Design Projects
A key tool in all our engagements is our model. As we examine a problem using free-flowing dialogue, we move from an examination of the current state of things to a shared vision of the future state of things.
In our shorthand, we look at the A, and then design the B.
But what will move us from the A to the B? How will we create the future that we have designed?
By planning and implementing design projects.
The projects 2nd Road designs as part of this process vary in length, scope, duration and impact. The common thread is the way in which we consult.
Starting with Strategic Conversations™ and subsequently employing our User based Design™ methodology, we implement projects that create a ‘pull’ from the user or customer rather than the push of most typical change initiatives.
We provide a team of people for these projects including a lead consultant/facilitator, lead designer, designer and graphic artist.
We form a ‘Lean design Team’ – a team of two or three people including a lead consultant who is accountable for the project’s outcomes. The team meets regularly to maintain the project’s momentum and keep it true to the design intent of the Strategic Conversation.
Once the project is underway a new way of working is established. Design starts to change your expectations, the way you work and behave. Innovation becomes the norm and the end user/customer becomes the focus of all strategic thinking.
Design projects typically take from one to 12 months.
During each project one of our key aims is to transfer new design skills through training and project support.
